We just received a nice big box of Peace Fleece. This wonderful "natural" yarn come from Porter, Maine and is 70% Merino, 30% Mohair (Russian/Romanian/American), worsted weight, and about 200 yards per skein. The little blurb on the label says: "We began our company in 1986 in response to the cold war, believing that historic enemies could co-exist through trade." Ellen has already made a sweater for us to display - she's just waiting to put the buttons on.

My super duper Girl Scout Twilight Camp staff gave me a $50 gift card. I will be in this weekend, yahoo!!
I love the idea that handcrafts make the world better - companies like this are a reminder how.
